01/06/2022 - 30/09/2022

All this on the saddle of a mountain bike, for an unforgettable ring route between the Susa Valley, Chisone Valley, the Briançonnais and the Maurienne.

Lands that have always had a vocation for cycling, rediscovering the most authentic spirit of adventure on mountain dirt roads, which only traveling by bicycle can offer.

A series of unique emotions, from the gravel of Assietta to the rediscovery of the ancient Galibier route, from the sun-kissed Pramand to the sparkling waters of Lake Moncenisio, passing by the austere fortresses of Aussois.

Day 1

From Susa we will face the hard ascent of Colle delle Finestre, with its very narrow series of hairpin bends in the woods and the last 7 km of dirt road that will lead us onto the legendary Assietta road. Here we will ride along the edge of the ridge of exceptional beauty in the battlegrounds of 1747. We will then reach Sestriere, where we will spend the night. Length 55 km, altitude difference 2,900 m.

Day 2

From Sestriere, descending to Sauze di Cesana, we will take on the beautiful Cima del Bosco military road, for a smooth and fun single track descent among the larch trees. We will then climb back up towards the Monti della Luna, crossing the Italian-French border near the Lago dei Sette Colori. A fun single track will take us to the area of the French forts of Gondrand, for a last descent on Briançon of a good technical level, avoidable on an easier path. Length 52 km, altitude difference 2,000 m.

Day 3

From Briançon, taking the Val Clarée, we will go up along dirt roads to the Col du Granon, passing by the village of the same name, surrounded by larch trees and skirting the Lenlon and Olive forts. From the pass we will first descend on a dirt track and then on a single track - the Chemin du Roi - to Le-Monetier-Les-Bains, where we will spend the evening. Length 38 km, altitude difference 1,400 m.

Day 4

A day of well-deserved rest is on the horizon: the thermal waters of Monetier les Bains await us, ensuring we will enjoy our holiday to the full ...
A few kilometres from Briancon we will enjoy a day of relaxation: the spa is just what we need to recover from the efforts of the first days and recharge our batteries for the grand finale!

Day 5

Setting off again from the beautiful town of the Valle della Guisane, we will go back up to the Col du Lautaret via secondary roads, to then face the climbs of the ancient Galibier road. Only on the pass will we find asphalt surfaces again, for the last uphill climbs with the Meije glaciers facing us head on. Having returned down to Valloire on a pleasant single track, we will reach Valmenier for the night along a decent trail in the woods. Length 46 km, altitude difference 1,600 m.
A visit to the military forts of Esseillon is not be missed!

Day 6

After a first part on the shady southern slope of the Maurienne, we will pass to the opposite side for the long climb to the Refuge de l'Orgère, a prelude to the descent on Modane and the ascent to the Savoy forts of Aussois. Having travelled across the whole plateau, we will head, still on dirt roads and secondary roads, to Lanslebourg, a pretty village at the foot of Moncenisio. Length 56 km, altitude difference 2,100 m.

Day 7

With a wonderful panoramic route, overlooking the peaks of the Vanoise, we will reach the Col de Sollières, from which, on a smooth single track, we will arrive on the shores of the Lago del Moncenisio. For the return to Susa we will take the military roads that, from the lakeside, will take us to Lago d'Arpon and to Novalesa, with its medieval abbey at the bottom of the Val Cenischia. Length 50 km, altitude difference 1,400 m.
