Highlights and tour details

Lou Viage, which means "the journey" in the Occitan language, is a structured hiking itinerary that develops over nineteen stages through all fourteen municipalities of Valle Stura di Demonte.

Lou Viage is synonymous not only with nature and the mountains, but also with history, tradition and culture: along the route you will encounter remarkable places of historical interest such as the Deportation Memorial in Borgo San Dalmazzo and the Albertino Fort in Vinadio, testimonies of local tradition such as the Ecomuseum of Sheep farming in Pontebernardo, a hamlet of Pietraporzio, and the Casa del Contrabbandiere (House of the Smuggler) in Ferrere, a hamlet of Argentera, and places of great spiritual importance such as the Sanctuary of Sant'Anna di Vinadio.

The path was created thanks to the initiative of the Comunità Montana Valle Stura and through the commitment of the Lou Viage association, made up of people with a passion for the territory and operators united by the objective of enhancing the Stura valley by promoting it through a form of conscious and eco-compatible tourism.
