Points of interest
The Po cycle path consists of a main path that winds along the left bank of the Po and there are many secondary routes that allow you to reach places of great historical and natural interest both in the plains and on the hill on the right bank, in a territory rich in history, from the Rocca di Verrua Savoia to the borders of Lomellina.
The wildest and most natural aspect of the Po can be seen downstream from Casale Monferrato, where the river, fed by the waters of the Sesia, Tanaro and Scrivia, forms large gravel banks, islands and ox bowl lakes, favouring the presence of rare species of animals, particularly herons, ducks and cormorants, but also the most elusive and small waders.
Along the whole cycle-way are in-depth information panels on the landscape, marked by the "T" symbols on a blue background. The main route winds into the plain, first on the left bank of the Po, reaching Crescentino from the stretch of mountain that crosses through Torino. In Casale Monferrato the cycle path takes you from the right embankment to the borders of Lombardia. The places of great historical and natural interest are indicated by in-depth information panels scattered along the way.
