Highlights and tour details

From Molini di Calasca you cross the Anza stream and climb up along an asphalt road to the Patei bridge. Cross the bridge and enter Val Segnara along the left side of the stream as far as Balm da dlà (Balma di là ). From here the mule track begins to climb with a few hairpin bends in a chestnut grove and then continues along the stream with an up and down stretch as far as the crossroads to Val Rosin (741 m). Keep left for Alpe Lago continuing uphill through a beautiful beech wood and passing first through Alpe Pozzetto (1136 m) and then Alpe Camino (1438 m). From here on, the vegetation thins out and the head of Valle Segnara opens up. Going along a last stretch on the hillside you reach the Alpe Lago basin where the Amedeo Pirozzini Bivouac (1545 m) is located. From here you shortly reach the hill above and descend on the opposite side of Valle Arsa reaching Alpe Pian Lago (1743 m) and the bivouac that is always open in the municipality of Pieve Vergonte.
