You depart from Fondomonfracchio and following the route that runs along the Onsernone stream you can easily reach Bagni di Craveggia, already renowned for its thermal waters at 29°-30° degrees. The thermal business was suspended following a large landslide that hit the bottom of the valley in 1951, right in front of the building of the Spa that was seriously damaged. After crossing the border, a stretch of road leads to Spruga. You then take the easy path on the left towards Passo del Busan and Laghetto dei Salei. When you reach Pian Secco (about 1420 m) you leave the path on the left that continues towards Alpe Pesced and the Pass to turn right towards Pian della Galera (about 1700 m) from where you can reach Alpe Salei (1777 m) by climbing a further stretch in the woods. From here, you cross over to the slope of the valley of the Ribo stream and follow a beautiful path that with some ascents and descents leads first to the mountain huts of Piei Bachel (1765 m), then passes through the Scheggione (1824 m) and finally reaches Alpe Arena (1689 m), with the homonymous hut.
