Highlights and tour details

From Malesco, head towards Toceno and climb to the last houses of Promez, before entering Valle di Arvogno. The mule track starts above the road (directions) and climbs into the coniferous wood to arrive in Colma di Fuori. Continue as far as the last hut and from here take the dirt road on the right that leads to La Piana ski resort. From the Refuge (1706 m), proceed in a northeasterly direction to the ski slope that becomes an easy mule track and climbs northwards to Bocchetta di Muino (1977 m). From Bocchetta descend rapidly towards the small homonymous lakes (CAI Emilio Greppi Refuge - Closed). From the lakes of Muino, on the right leave the main route of Stage 3 headed towards Fondomonfracchio and climb up a very short stretch to Bocchetta di Ruggia, where there is a beautiful view over Valle Onsernone. From Bocchetta di Ruggia follow a lovely flat traverse, which leads to Passo Fontanalba. From here, descend across Alpi Camana and Cantonozzo until the stream of Valle Agrasino at an altitude of about 1600 m. Climb slightly the opposite slope until you meet trail L00 for Bocchetta del Lago Gelato. Take this trail on the right and follow it for a short stretch along the course of the stream to then rise up on a trail that is not too visible among the pastures and finally reach Alpe Cortevecchio, home to the Bonasson Bivouac
