Day 1

Arrival, dinner and accommodation in a *** hotel in Limone Piemonte.

Day 2

Departure from Limone Piemonte (1.400 m) - Climb towards the Col de Tende pass where the Via del Sale starts, the Centrale Fort, Cabanaira, Boaria Pass, Rifugio Don Barbera mountain hut, Navette woods, Monesi. Kilometre after kilometre of unpaved military roads with spectacular views, many types of woods and alpine meadows, karst areas and fortifications.
Dinner and accommodation.
Length: 53 km - Elevation 1.800 m (+) and 1.400 m (-)

Day 3

Set off from Monesi, climb to the Tanarello pass and Monte Saccarello (with sea view in good weather).
Lunch in La Terza refuge (Monesi di Triora).
Descend to Collardente pass (Napoleon's route), Bassa di Sanson and climb to the Marta barracks and Marta Balconies (with the largest alpine fortification of the Alpine Wall). From here, descend on the military road to Colle Melosa or Triora and gain the paved road and the Ligurian coastline.
Dinner and accommodation in Sanremo.
Length: 60 km – 1,100 m altitude difference (+) and 2,100 m (-)

Day 4

Set off for an easy ride on the cycle path from Sanremo to Imperia. Sports and relaxation day with a visit to the Ancient Olive Mill and the Olive Oil Museum of Albenga. The family still produces cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil “must” here, and sells all the Ligurian cuisine specialities it produces, using only traditional methods and without any additives or preservatives.
Lunch in a typical inn - return by train to Limone Piemonte. *
